Togo
Togo (officially the Togolese Republic) is a country in West Africa bordering Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, on which the capital Lomé is located. The official language is French; however, there are many other languages spoken in Togo.

Togo's size is just less than 57,000 square kilometres (22,000 sq mi). It has a population of more than 6,100,000 people, which is dep...endent mainly on agriculture. The mild weather makes for good growing seasons. Togo is a tropical, sub-Saharan nation.
Capital
Lome
Lome, with an estimated population of 737,751, is the capital and largest city of Togo. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, Lomé is the country's administrative and industrial center and its chief port. The city exports coffee, cocoa, copra, and palm kernels. It also has an oil refinery.
Biggest cities
Tsévié
Tsévié is a city in the Maritime Region of Togo. It is situated 20 miles (32 km) north of the capital Lomé and in 1981 had a population of 20,247. The city is inhabited primarily by Ewe people. The town is an important market centre for trading and is noted for its for palm oil processing. Tsévié has road and railway links with Notsé, Atakpamé, and Blitta to the north and with Lomé to the south.
Aného
Aného is a town in southeastern Togo. It is situated 45 km east of the capital Lomé, between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Togo in Maritime Region. Historically it was known under the name Little Popo and it had a Portuguese slave market. It later became the first German capital of Togo in the 1880s. It gradually declined in importance after the capital was transferred to Lomé in 1897, a decline exacerbated by coastal erosion.
Atakpamé
Founded by the Yoruba people, Atakpamé, the fifth largest city in Togo by population (84,979 inhabitants in 2006), is a city in the Plateaux Region of Togo. It is an industrial centre and lies on the main north-south highway, 161 km north of the capital Lomé. It is also a regional commercial centre for produce and cloth.
Mango
Mango or Sansanné-Mango is a city in Togo. It is situated in the Savanes Region, 26 km from the border with Ghana. The population is about 41,464 people.
